In this episode we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first airing of the original series of Star Trek.
Little did the show's creator Gene Roddenberry know that Star Trek would go on to spawn six subsequent shows: The Animated Series, Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Enterprise and Discovery, which is due in 2017. Plus there was also a planned new series in the mid-1970s with the original cast called Star Trek: Phase II which would have seen another 5 year mission under Captain Kirk, but then Star Wars happened and Paramount started a scramble for its own space opera dynasty of films, and thus Star Trek: The Motion Picture was born, followed by a massive 12 further films (a total of 6 original cast, 4 Next Generation and 3 franchise reboots).
The next main podcast will look at the cinema release of Hell or High Water, the home release of Green Room and the classic film is Chariots of Fire.
